Group Organizing Drives Strong 2019 Growth for SignUpGenius

Unique visitors reach 131 million; number of sign ups created increased 16% year-over-year.

SignUpGenius Reports Strong 2019 GrowthCHARLOTTE, N.C. — SignUpGenius, the top online sign up service for group management, reached more than 131 million unique users in 2019 - a 36% increase from 2018.

SignUpGenius helps up to 22 million people per month organize events and volunteers. People use the site to plan everything from parent teacher conferences to disaster relief efforts.

SignUpGenius launched a new version of its sign up tool in April, making organizing faster and more streamlined for users. The updated sign up builder supports the diverse needs of groups including families, schools, businesses and nonprofit organizations. The site offers an intuitive experience, reflecting the company's mission to empower people to change the world by making it simple to organize groups. 

"Our growth is powered by individuals making a difference in their communities, and we're grateful that in 2019 we helped more people than ever organize groups and events with SignUpGenius," CFO Jeff Richek said. "The new sign up builder makes planning events even easier, giving our customers more time to focus on accomplishing their goals." 

Treating people better than they expect to be treated is a key focus at SignUpGenius, from employee perks to customer support. In 2019 the company received two national customer service awards: Customer Support Manager Teresa Clark won a Gold Stevie Award — the highest honor — for Front-Line Customer Service Professional of the Year - Technology Industries. The customer support team was selected as the 2019 Service All-Stars Award Winner by the National Customer Service Association for Service Team of the Year (Small Business).

  • SignUpGenius users signed up for 88.9 million items from potluck dishes to interview slots - an 18% increase from 2018.
  • SignUpGenius awarded $5,000 to Schwarzkoff Elementary School in Sterling Heights, Michigan - winner of the back-to-school Genius Tech Giveaway.
  • SignUpGenius was selected as a 2019 Citizens Awards finalist in the Best Corporate Steward—Small & Medium Sized Business category. Presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Citizens Awards recognize businesses serving as a powerful force for good in communities across the U.S. and in countries around the world.
Giving back has been a core part of the SignUpGenius culture from the beginning. The team volunteers often in the community, serving with local nonprofits such as Brookstone Schools and Bright Blessings. In honor of Giving Tuesday in 2019, SignUpGenius donated $250 to nonprofits selected by each of its team members.
