CHARLOTTE, N.C. — SignUpGenius, the leading online sign up service for event and volunteer management, had another year of rapid growth in 2017, increasing revenue 41 percent from the year before and reaching 77 million unique visitors — an increase of 11 million from 2016.
The year was a landmark one for SignUpGenius, which announced a strategic majority investment by Providence Strategic Group in July, the company's first outside investment. The partnership expands SignUpGenius' ability to serve customers and develop more tools to simplify group organizing.
SignUpGenius users gave back with their time and hearts in communities across the country in 2017, including using the site in efforts to aid the many people devastated by natural disasters such as Hurricane Irma and the California wildfires. Users created 3.5 million online sign ups last year, coordinating everything from school fundraisers and sports concession shifts to business training sessions and church volunteer schedules.
"From planning disaster relief efforts to organizing classroom volunteers, in 2017 our customers showed that passionate groups of well-organized people really can change the world," CEO Dan Rutledge said. "This year, we are committed to dazzling our users with even more time-saving tools and features that will empower their groups to be a shining light in their communities."
