CHARLOTTE, N.C. — SignUpGenius has introduced a new way of collecting money on its popular online sign ups, simplifying the process of accepting payments as it continues to diversify revenue sources.
Sign up organizers can collect payments from event participants for everything from ticket sales and event registrations to capital campaigns and business services using a simple integration with payments processor WePay.
"Millions of people already use our sign ups to plan fundraisers, schedule business appointments, collect donations and much more each month. This is a natural step for SignUpGenius so people can seamlessly plan an event from start to finish on the site," CEO Dan Rutledge said.
Up to 12 million people per month use the site's tools to coordinate people and events and communicate important event details through messaging and other advanced tools. Online payments are free for event organizers to collect, and participants are charged a simple and competitive 5% processing fee plus $0.50 cents per transaction.
SignUpGenius has introduced a number of new features this year, including text messaging, exclusive sign up designs, custom notifications and a revamped sign up process.
Fall is the busiest time of year at SignUpGenius with many schools, businesses, groups and nonprofits planning events and coordinating volunteers. More than 66 million people visited the site last year, creating 2.3 million sign up pages and signing up for 54.4 million items.
