CHARLOTTE, N.C. - June 16, 2014 - SignUpGenius was presented with a Silver StevieĀ® Award in the Customer Service Department of the Year category in The 12th Annual American Business Awards in Chicago on Friday.
The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations - public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for "crowned," the trophies were presented to winners during a gala banquet on Friday, June 13 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel. More than 400 nominees and their guests attended. The presentations will be broadcast by the BizTalk Radio Network this week on Tuesday and Friday nights.
More than 3,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Customer Service Department of the Year. The SignUpGenius support team was honored for their stellar response to increased company growth in 2013. During the five busiest months of 2013, support tickets increased by 156% while the average response time to tickets decreased by 32%. With a handful of support specialists, SignUpGenius was able to resolve over 60,000 support tickets in 2013. In addition, support staff worked to enhance user experience by creating tutorial videos to answer FAQ's and pointed users to webinars and helpful how-to planning articles on the site.
"We take customer service very seriously at SignUpGenius," says CEO Dan Rutledge. "Helping and empowering people to lead groups is not just our job, it's our passion. I'm so proud of Angel, Teresa, Amy, Kirsten, and Rebecca for their hard work and sacrificial service to our users. I consider it a privilege to work with such a great group of ladies and am excited to have them officially recognized as the best in the business."
Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 240 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year. "It's an honor for us to recognize and celebrate such an outstanding class of organizations and individuals," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. "The judges were especially discerning this year. All of this year's Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie winners should be proud that the judges recognized their achievements and their ability to express those achievements in a way that captured the judges' hearts and imaginations."
