CHARLOTTE, NC - May 8, 2014 - SignUpGenius has been named a Finalist today in the Customer Service Department of the Year category by the American Business Awards. The leading online sign up service for event and volunteer management will be awarded a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie® Award at the awards ceremony on June 13 in Chicago.
The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations - public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. More than 3,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of business categories.
Exceptional customer support has been crucial to the success and growth of SignUpGenius. Since the website launched in late 2008, busy moms and volunteer coordinators have flocked to the site to organize events and recruit volunteers for their schools, churches, sports, businesses and nonprofits. With a handful of support specialists, SignUpGenius was able to resolve over 60,000 support tickets in 2013. In addition, support staff worked to enhance user experience by creating tutorial videos to answer FAQ's and pointed users to webinars and helpful how-to planning articles on the site.
Finalists for the Stevie® Awards were chosen by more than 150 business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April and May. More than 150 members of several specialized judging committees will determine Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists during final judging, to take place May 13-22. "The final judges have a difficult task ahead of them, to rank the Finalists, because there are so many great nominations this year," said Stevie Awards president and founder Michael Gallagher.
