Safe Horse Handling Class

The Safe Horse Handling class is required for GEC students to be able to get their horse out of the field by themselves.  It is also available to volunteers who wish to assist with activities that require horse handling.

The cost of the class is $25, it is free for volunteers after they have volunteered a total of 20 hours.

This class is available to anyone over the age of eight. Discretion should be used for any indiviual that may have mobility challenges.  The ability to focus is also critical to being safe in the fields with the horses.  Parents are welcome to join their children in this class for no additional fee.

Please be sure to wear appropriate footwear for the class - the fields can be very muddy and wet.  The class is usually 20 to 40 minutes long.

Regularly scheduled classes will resume in October 2021 on the first sunday of each month at 2pm.  Until that time, please ask your instructor for a personal class.  Volunteers can email [email protected] to schedule a class.
