St. Vincent de Paul

Saturday Truck Drivers & Helpers & Adult Dock Captain

Thank you for signing up to volunteer as a Saturday collection truck driver or helper at St. Vincent de Paul. Please report to the SVdP Distribution Center, 1201 E. Maryland Street, by 7:45 AM. You will be driving or riding in a 24-foot SVdP box truck (no CDL required, but driver must be at least 21) on a designated route of between 9-12 residences to pick up donated items. Return to the Distribution Center typically between 1-2 PM, depending on circumstances. Although trucks are equipped with electric tailgates and a 2-wheel appliance dolly, drivers and helpers should be comfortable with the weight and bulk involved in moving around home appliances and furniture. There is a slot for Helper #6 because one truck can take two helpers. Please help unload your truck upon return to the Distribution Center and return paperwork to the office.

We are also in need of one Adult Dock Captain on Saturday from 9am - 12pm. This person is responsible for leading the crew of dock volunteers by:

  • Assisting clients and customers loading furniture and appliances into their vehicles,
  • Receiving donations and issuing receipts (if requested), and
  • Managing the volunteers for the efficient operation of the dock.

Oh, and remember to remove your name if something comes up and you can't volunteer, after all. Questions? Contact Ken Schutt [email protected]

Thank you for giving your time and talent to those less fortunate in Central Indiana.

Blessings, from all of us at St. Vincent de Paul.

Location: 1201 E. Maryland St.
