Hello fellow musicians!
It is that time of year again - time to inspire young musicians! At High Plains School, 5th Graders have just had an in-depth process over the last several weeks to learn about the instruments that make up the Band and have even got to try some mouthpieces and mallets to make their decision even more solid. After Spring Break, all 5th graders will have made their choice to (hopefully) be in the HPS Band program and will have rented/purchased instruments and materials.
Now, we are looking for volunteers to help them with their very first steps in Band. Putting together instruments, posture, hand placement, grip, reed placement, etc. These fundamental skills are best taught to specific groups, so this year, I'm trying something new - themed days.
Tootin' Tuesdays (I know... but Brass kids will love it. HAHA!)
I am asking if you are interested in helping on these specific days. All small group meetings are after school at High Plains School and will be taught outside (weather permitting). We will follow all safety guidelines and have students do the same. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up (double-check you are signing up on the correct "themed" day!). Also, please feel free to pass this info along to other musicians in your circle; college/high school students, lesson instructors, anyone who can truly help ignite the passion, and knows what to teach at this age level.
