Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation

Dog Walking & Cat Socializing at LDCRF Kennels

Welcome volunteers!

Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation (LDCRF) manages a kennel facility in Falls Church, VA and we have lots of volunteer opportunities for dog walking & cat socializing, as well as basic kennel chores!

**Attending a New Volunteer Welcome & Orientation is required for all first-time volunteers at the kennel.  Prior to a new volunteer signing up for a shift at the kennel, each person will be required to attend a new volunteer welcome & orientation session.  This includes volunteers interested in working with dogs and cats at the kennel or assisting with basic kennel chores.

**Volunteers MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS AND BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE to sign up for dog walking.  For everyone's safety, CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE KENNEL AREA without prior authorization.

There is a small staff cleaning and making sure the animals are cared for at the kennel, however volunteers are needed daily to greet new volunteers, walk dogs, help clean dog kennels, clean cat cages, socialize cats, manage play groups, and dole out lots of TLC!

**"Early Riser Dog Walker" Opportunity.  If you’re an early riser, we REALLY need your help in the mornings to get our dogs out for quick potty breaks.  Many of them are housebroken and eager to get their “paws” on the ground outside to keep their good house manners!  Come get your “steps” in and see happy tails wagging; they will be so happy to see you!

**Directions: LDCRF Seven Corners (7C) Kennel is located at 6801 Wilson Blvd, Falls Church Va.  We are located directly behind the Eden Center; use the smaller entrance off of Wilson Blvd (entrance with no arch, smaller concrete lions, right next to Arlington Motors sign).  Once you turn into Eden Center, make an immediate left turn.  Follow road to a large gray building with yellow awnings.  Park in the lot by our building or in the shopping center parking lot - but NOT at the building across the street.

Volunteers use the large white metal gate at the right side of the building to enter.

If you want to get in some quality critter time, now is your chance!  Sign up for a time slot, wear sneakers/non-skid shoes and plan to leave with nose prints and dog/cat hair all over your clothing.  If you can't stay for an entire time slot, that is fine.  We are happy to have your help!  See you soon!
