“I feel [these conversations] have helped me to be more open to thinking of ways, no matter how small, to change my thinking and actions, and to help make other people be more aware as well.”
Anti-racism is a critical and often explosive topic that can lead to tough and uncomfortable conversations with colleagues, friends and even family members.
It is easy to feel unsettled and defensive when confronted by words like “white privilege” and “unconscious bias”.
Through this initiative, we wish to offer a safe place to explore in depth issues of equity, equality, and inclusion with other interested individuals.
The focus of this small-group interactive learning experience will be forthright discussion and soul-searching reflection that will empower change in our personal and collective thinking and actions.
Content for each session will be drawn from current media sources like Ted Talks, podcasts, and web-based journalism.
