Best Volunteers Ever!
UPDATE FOR MEALS: For the remaining weekends we have decided to change the drop off times for meals based on staff and youth feedback. There will only be one meal on Saturday and one meal on Sunday to be dropped off at 4pm both days. The Face to Face staff at the hotel has noticed that often the young people are sleeping in until midafternoon and this change allows them to receive the donated food when it is still hot. When dropping off the meals we're still asking volunteers to go to room 121. If the Face to Face staff member is not there, please call the Face to Face Hotel Advocates cellphone.
The hotel shelter is expected to close during November. As of right now our last weekend for donating meals will be November 13-14.

A few guidelines for preparing meals for this group of youth:
1) No pork please.
2) Please bring/prepare 20 individually-packaged meals - this is a COVID-related restriction.
3) To accommodate dietary restrictions, please provide at least one vegetarian option.
4) Our youth are ages 18-24, and thus at times their tastes have yet to mature. They love things like pasta, burgers, sandwiches; i.e., recognizable American food (this includes certain Chinese dishes and gyros). They tend to reject vegetables, but do tend to like and eat fruit.
5) Our youth have enjoyed so many meals prepared by our volunteers! We have noticed that some folks like to bring extras like bottled water and/or bags of healthy snacks - these are usually a hit.
Thank you! We appreciate you very much!!
