Tree of Life Community Kitchen
Thank you for reviewing our current volunteer opportunities. We greatly appreciate your willingness to serve during this time. Our purpose is very simple:
‘To reach out to the poor and needy in our community with the love of Jesus Christ.’
The Tree of Life Community Kitchen provides a free meal to our neighbors on a weekly basis. In the current health crisis, feeding those in need is as important as ever but we also want to make sure we are protecting the health of our volunteers and those we are serving. Therefore, Tree of Life is now offering FREE TO-GO MEALS available curbside at the Victory House on Main Street, Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm, in place of our regular community dinner event.
We invite you and your group to consider providing 50 meals to help feed the community. The meals will need to be prepared in advance and can be packaged either by your group before being dropped off or brought to our Purcellville Center at 4:00 to be packaged there (we will provide the containers). Alternatively, some groups have opted to purchase meals from local restaurants and deliver those to Tree of Life to be handed out – this is a great way to feed those in need and support local businesses.
Because of the mandate against gatherings of more than 10 people, only one member of your group may stay to help pass out meals after they have been packaged. We would love to have the help and get to know you but if you would prefer not to stay, we are happy to pass the meals out for you. Please deliver the prepackaged meals to The Victory House at 5:00pm (unpackaged meals to TOL at 4:45). Those who stay to hand out food will be done by 7:00 at the latest.
The Victory House is located at 520 East Main Street, Purcellville, Virginia. You can call or email with any questions: 540-441-7920 and [email protected]
