A Fun and Festive Classroom Easter Party
Party Volunteers: Enlist the help of your classroom parents. Depending on how many activities you choose, schedule enough volunteers to allow proper supervision of the children. Dyeing eggs, making Easter baskets, and Easter egg hunts, all while they eat candy, may require a little more attention. Depending on how many children in the group, put a few parents in charge of the Easter or springtime games. Put another group in charge of the snacks. Splitting up the Easter party responsibilities will help make the party fun for both the kids and the adults.
HEY TEACHERS AND ROOM MOMS! Party Donations: Inquire to where the funds will come from for prizes, special games, and party festivities. Will you ask parents to donate decorations and prizes or will your PTA or PTO provide a budget for your party? Know this ahead of time before you begin planning. It may determine how many activities you can plan, how many prizes you can give out and how much food and drink you can offer. Party Decorations: Schedule enough parent volunteers to decorate the classroom. Make sure you plan enough help to hang plenty of streamers, blow up pastel colored balloons and set up festive party tables. If possible, you can schedule these same people can help set up activity stations ahead of time or help fill eggs with prizes for the Easter egg hunt. Party Goodies: Easter parties necessitate food, and decorating Easter cut-out sugar cookies or frosting cupcakes is a fun and finger-licking way to provide students with treats. Depending on your budget, you may ask parents for food donations. Bite-sized fruit like grapes & strawberries, rabbit platters (crudités) and other finger foods work out well. Remember to request plenty of traditional Easter basket goodies like haystack cookies, jellybeans, and peeps. Have each parent contribute a small number of eggs, one or two dozen, to the hunt. Have plenty of eggs by including a mix of real eggs, plastic prize eggs, and candy eggs in the hunt. Some good ideas for prizes include small chocolate or Easter treat items, small outdoor toys, bubbles, pencils and notebooks, stickers, and other small novelties.
Party Cleanup: Usually once the party is over, everyone wants to leave in a hurry. Proper preparation involves scheduling help for a super-quick cleanup. Disposable tablecloths, decorations, eating utensils and bowls are easy and have plenty of trash bags and papertowels. Posted by Helena LaGarde CommentsThere are currently no comments for this page.
