Celebrating National Volunteer Month - Thank You from SignUpGenius

Every successful event starts with someone raising their hand.

Maybe it's a parent signing up to bring snacks for the team. Maybe it's a room parent finding volunteers for a classroom party. Maybe it's a church coordinator putting together a meal train or a nonprofit organizer filling volunteer spots for a fundraiser.

One sign up turns into a lot of people showing up.

National Volunteer Month is a chance to celebrate the people behind those sign ups, both the organizers putting everything together and the volunteers making time to help.

We get to see those stories every day at SignUpGenius, and they never get old.

To the Volunteers: Thank You for Showing Up

Every time you sign up to help, you make someone else's day a little easier.

You help classrooms run smoothly. You make team dinners happen. You keep school events, church programs, fundraisers, and neighborhood gatherings moving.

A sign up can feel small when you are doing it from your phone in-between errands or while waiting in the school pickup line. Then you show up, and suddenly the event works because enough people came.

That is what volunteers do.

This National Volunteer Month, we want to say thank you.

Whether you volunteer once a year or every week, you matter.

To the Organizers: Thank You for Bringing People Together

Every event has someone behind the scenes making sure it happens.

You are sending reminders, filling open spots, answering last-minute questions, and figuring out who is bringing napkins because someone always forgets napkins.

Most people never see all the planning that goes into a volunteer event. They show up, everything is ready, and the event runs smoothly.

That only happens because an organizer put in the work ahead of time.

You help people know where to be, what to bring, and how they can pitch in. You turn a list of names into an actual event.

This National Volunteer Month, we are celebrating you, too.

Thank you for all the planning, the follow-ups, and the care you put into every event.

How SignUpGenius Helps Volunteers & Organizers Work Together

Volunteer events run better when everyone knows where to be, what to bring, and when to show up.

SignUpGenius helps organizers handle all of that in one place. You can build a sign up in a few minutes, add dates, times, needed items, and volunteer spots, then share it with your group.

As people sign up, you can see which spots are full, which still need help, and where you may need to send a quick reminder.

Organizers can use SignUpGenius to:

• Create sign ups with dates, time slots, item lists, and volunteer roles
• Limit the number of people who can sign up for each spot
• Send automatic reminder emails and texts before the event
• Message participants with updates if plans change
• Collect payments or donations for fundraisers, team events, and group gifts
• Add wish lists, potluck items, and needed supplies
• Keep all event details and communication in one place

Volunteers get an easier experience, too.

They can sign up from their phone or computer, see what is still needed, get reminders before the event, and check details without searching through old emails or group texts.

A good sign up keeps everyone organized. It also makes it easier for people to say yes.

Genius Tip

If your event needs a permission slip or waiver, attach it directly to your sign up so volunteers can review it before they sign up to help. It cuts down on follow-up emails and helps everyone come prepared.

Thank You for Making a Difference

National Volunteer Month is about the people who make events happen.

The organizers planning everything. The volunteers showing up. The parents bringing juice boxes. The team moms texting reminders. The church members delivering meals.

Those small acts add up.

Thank you for being part of it.
