SignUpGenius is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Intelligence to manage and continue developing the BI function and strengthen a scalable, trusted analytics foundation across the business. This role will own BI strategy, metric governance, executive reporting, dashboard development, cross-functional analytics support, and BI quality control/QA. The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence, will partner closely with senior leaders, business stakeholders, Engineering, and Data Engineering to translate data into clear, actionable insights. The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence, will ensure key business metrics are consistently defined, reporting is reliable, and teams have the visibility needed to make faster, better decisions. This hands-on leadership role requires both strategic thinking and practical execution, including managing BI priorities, setting stakeholder expectations, validating data logic, identifying reporting issues, ensuring BI outputs are accurate and trusted, and partnering with technical teams when data modeling, infrastructure, or source-system support is needed. Building on SignUpGenius’s existing BI foundation, this leader will help strengthen BI as a trusted shared resource and strategic partner that supports better decision-making, stronger executive and functional visibility, scalable dashboards, governed metrics, high-quality reporting, and continued business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Business Intelligence function and serve as a trusted analytics partner to executive leadership and functional teams.
- Manage and continuously improve the BI roadmap, operating model, stakeholder intake process, prioritization framework, and delivery expectations to ensure BI resources align with the highest-value business needs.
- Develop and maintain executive and functional dashboards, including company KPIs, revenue, subscription, payments, marketing, product usage, funnel, retention, and customer lifecycle metrics.
- Own core business metric definitions and ensure consistent use across dashboards, executive reporting, planning, and business reviews.
- Build and maintain documentation, including metric definitions, data dictionaries, dashboard logic, reporting processes, and governance standards.
- Partner across the organization to understand business priorities, define analytics needs, and deliver reporting and insights that support executive visibility, planning, performance management, product and customer analysis, revenue growth, operations, and other strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with Engineering and Data Engineering to improve data quality, reporting reliability, data models, source-system integrations, and analytics infrastructure while maintaining BI’s primary focus on business-facing reporting, metric governance, analytics delivery, and decision support.
- Own BI quality control, including QA, monitoring, validation, data accuracy, dashboard reliability, and recurring review processes that ensure reporting remains trusted, consistent, and fit for business decision-making.
- Translate business questions into clear analysis, practical recommendations, and decision-ready insights.
- Manage, mentor, and develop BI team members as the function grows.
- Stay current on BI, analytics, metric governance, dashboard design, data quality, and reporting best practices, and recommend practical improvements as the business scales.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Analytics, Product Analytics, Revenue Analytics, Finance Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience in a SaaS, payments, marketplace, ecommerce, consumer internet, or high-volume transaction environment.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Quick Sight or a comparable BI platform, including dashboard development, dataset configuration, calculated fields, permissions, refresh schedules, troubleshooting, and ongoing dashboard maintenance; direct Quick Sight experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with business systems and data sources such as Stripe, HubSpot, NetSuite, Google Analytics, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with AWS-based data environments, particularly Redshift, and the ability to partner effectively with Engineering and Data Engineering on data availability, structure, and reliability.
- Prior experience leading BI initiatives, owning reporting roadmaps, or managing analytics workstreams across multiple business functions.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Strong understanding of data warehouses, data modeling, governed datasets, dashboard architecture, and metric governance from a BI, analytics, and reporting perspective.
- Experience building or managing executive dashboards and recurring business reporting.
- Ability to work effectively with senior leaders across Finance, Product, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Success.
- Strong business judgment and ability to distinguish between data quality issues, metric definition issues, and underlying business performance issues.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, including intake, prioritization, documentation, stakeholder communication, and delivery management.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and quality.
