The Scrum Master will take responsibility for project management, process standardization, and communication efforts to ensure alignment between product strategy and development execution. This role requires a blend of deep Agile expertise, thorough knowledge of industry-standard Agile project management software, strong organizational skills, a passion for process improvement, and the leadership ability to influence without authority.
Responsibilities:
- Team Facilitation (Direct Teams)

- Ceremony Ownership: Plan, lead, and facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive, focused, and time-boxed.
- Roadblock Resolution: Proactively identify, address, and remove impediments, risks, and challenges that hinder development teams from achieving sprint goals and meeting delivery timelines.
- Team Performance: Coach teams to meet commitments, foster ownership, increase velocity, and maintain a sustainable pace.
- Backlog Support: Support Product Owners and Business Analysts by ensuring the product backlog is well-defined, properly sized, sufficiently refined, and ready for development work.
- Cross-Team Leadership and Organizational Agility
- Scaling Agility (Scrum of Scrums): Serve as the organizational leader for other Product Owners/Scrum Masters by establishing and facilitating an SoS or a comparable coordination structure.
- Process Standardization: Drive consistency in Agile practices, tooling (Atlassian Jira/Confluence), and documentation standards across R&D and product teams.
- Dependency Management: Identify and manage cross-team dependencies and sequencing, ensuring alignment across SignUpGenius teams for major releases and product initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the organization, helping teams inspect and adapt their processes to drive efficiency and value.
- Program Management and Stakeholder Transparency
- Project Leadership: Take ownership of complex, multidisciplinary projects, coordinating their execution from initiation through final delivery.
- Timeline and Road-mapping Support: Assist with managing delivery timelines and project forecasts; provide input on road-mapping updates.
- Release Management: Coordinate release activities and schedules with the Product Owners, Development Teams, and QA to ensure timely, high-quality deployment of product increments, including documentation and communication of release notes and deployment status.
- Documentation and Communication: Document and clearly communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and release details to all functional teams and stakeholders.
- Metric Reporting: Use Jira and other tools to capture, analyze, and report key team metrics (e.g., team velocity, sprint completion rate, lead time) to improve processes and provide data-driven transparency.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate closely with key collaborators on initiative assessment, prioritization, and execution to ensure alignment across product, marketing, and design.
