Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week 2024

As the school year winds down, it’s time to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from May 6 to 10! This week honors educators for all the love and commitment that they pour into their work each day. 

To show our support, we hosted a Teacher Appreciation Giveaway, giving you the chance to nominate the deserving teachers in your life.

Five winners were randomly selected to receive a $500 gift card as a token of our appreciation. We're excited to announce the five teachers selected, and why they were nominated!

Amanda Halpin from Sunset Lake Elementary 

“My daughter had to transfer, and Mrs. Halpin made the switch in just a way that it felt like my daughter was there all year. My daughter felt safe and welcome from day one. Big change in her attitude towards school and learning!” 

Jennifer Thompson from New Braunfels High School 

“I appreciate the opportunity to nominate Jennifer Thompson as a standout educator. Throughout my high school career, I have experienced several distinctive teachers, but I think it’s safe to say that Mrs. Thompson has made a unique and profound impact to not only my education, but many other students within her fourteen-year career.  

She demonstrates a significant amount of knowledge in the subjects she teaches and makes the environment an enjoyable place to be in, while still providing students with helpful information to assist in their career after high school.  

Not only is she highly active with her students in her main subjects, but she volunteers her time as the coordinator for National Technical Honor Society and advisor for SkillsUSA Criminal Justice.”

“Mrs. Walker has a class of 17 kindergartners and alone has worked very hard all school year and taught them. A couple kids struggled from not knowing anything from the start of the year, but she caught it right off the bat and gave it her all with them!”

“In his 5 years at Braswell High School, he has greatly impacted his students through encouragement, love, and leadership. Mr. Burris is an Orchestra Director at Braswell High School, and is transitioning to Texas Woman's University next year.”

“Mr. Gallagher is one the most inspirational teachers around. He influences the lives of hundreds of students a year through music education. He takes time to truly understand the need of each student and help them reach their full potential.” 

Show Your Appreciation 

Take time this week to show the teachers in your life how much they mean to you, and how appreciative you are for all that they do!

Treat them with a gift, volunteer time to help in the classroom, or send a thank you note! Coordinate group efforts with sign ups so the whole class can contribute!
