University of North Dakota Organizes Graduation with SignUpGenius

When it comes to graduation, Dawn Botsford is a pro. As the events coordinator for the University of North Dakota Office of Ceremonies and University Events, she coordinates six commencement ceremonies a year and relies on volunteers to make each event a success.

"SignUpGenius makes recruiting graduation ceremony assistants more professional," Botsford says. "People can sign up for exactly the position they prefer, and I think that was key in making this work. Once the sign up was set up and the link sent out, it was easy for people to sign up, receive a confirmation, and to receive a reminder email two days before the event."

Prior to SignUpGenius, Botsford used email to organize and recruit past graduation volunteers, but online sign ups made it easier to grow their volunteer base.

"SignUpGenius allowed us to expand our pool of potential staff to work at commencement," Botsford says.

As a busy event planner, Dawn needed features that would allow her to track the status of each event. One of her favorite features, exporting volunteer reports, streamlined the planning.

"I found SignUpGenius relatively easy to set up," Botsford says, "and I liked the reports which were easy to download when I needed them."

SignUpGenius is proud to empower genius scholars and the organizers who celebrate them. Congrats, grads!

I am a huge fan of SignUpGenius. I am a second career nurse in northern Virginia at a large teaching hospital where I work on the labor unit with 120 fabulous coworkers. The nurses have to sign up for eight hours of "call" each schedule of four weeks. After two months of getting the staff prepared mentally for online call, I'm pleased to say our maiden voyage was a huge success. All 84 nurses signed up within 24 hours, which was unheard of. We usually have to stalk and threaten. Thanks SignUpGenius. I'm a fan forever.
