Worship Volunteers

Volunteer Lay Readers and Prayer of Dedication

The best worship service is one in which different people take part in ways large and small. One way you can take part in worship this year is to be a Lay Reader or offer the Prayer of Dedication at the 10:30 service only. A Lay Reader reads a scripture passage before the sermon. Usually you will get the passage a day or two before you are to read. (We try to steer clear of the ones with the unpronounceable names!). If you sign up to do the Prayer of Dedication, you can make one up, find one online or use one from a book of prayers in the Deacon's closet.

You can sign up below for the day you would like to volunteer. You will get a reminder email the Wednesday before the service you are scheduled to do. If a conflict arises, you can trade with someone else on the sign up list.

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] Thank you for sharing your gifts with our church!
