We need your help in the CAC Food Pantry and Thirft operations.
In the Food Pantry, the tasks will include receiving and processing food donations, stocking shelves, and helping distribute food to clients. There is also some computer work that needs to be done (those roles will be clearly marked that computer knowledge is required).
In the Thrift area, volunteers will be receiving and sorting donations, pricing items, or working directly in the store with clients and customers. We strongly encourage you to sign up for three thrift shifts per week for training efficiency purposes.
If all the slots are filled please check back often since there could be cancellations and we are constantly adding new shifts.
We have just added many new opportunities to help with our Thanksgiving Food Program. Please see the link below for more information.

**NO MORE THAN THREE SHIFTS PER WEEK FOR A VOLUNTEER**
CAC is following Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Georgia Department of Public Health guidelines to keep volunteers, staff and clients safe at CAC facilities. Please see the attached document "CAC COVID Safety Protocol" for up to date information about our COVID safety policy.
- Routinely cleaning all frequently touched surfaces in the workplace.
- Providing cleaning products so that commonly used surfaces can be wiped down by employees before each use.
- Limiting face-to-face contact by closing CAC facilities to the general public and distributing food at the doors.
- Asking people who have traveled to affected areas of the world not to volunteer at this time.
- Asking sick people not to volunteer.
- Sending sick people home.
- Protecting people at risk by not allowing them to volunteer at this time.
Also, all volunteers must be at least 15 years of age. Anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an parent or adult. All registered volunteers please report to the food pantry located at 8607 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30350, at least five minutes before your scheduled shift. Finally, please only sign up for shifts that you are absolutely sure you can make. We need the work done and if you do not show then it can compromise our ability to serve those in need. Please do not bring an extra person with you unless they are registered. You may only register one person per slot. It is very important that we know everyone who is volunteering so we can notify them in case of a COVID exposure. People just showing up without being registered may be asked to leave the site.
You will be required to sign a waiver before helping. The waiver can be downloaded below. Anyone under 18 years of age will need their parents or legal gaurdians to sign it. Please bring the waiver with you when you come (only need to do once). If you do not sign a waiver, you will not be allowed to stay and volunteer.
You will receive an email around two days prior to your shift with info on assignments, times, roles, and contact person on site.

Also, we are creating a WhatsApp CAC Volunteer group so we can communicate among each other in real time. This will help us reach out to you all when we need help on the spur of the moment as well as it will give you an opportunity to communicate with other helpers as well as the staff. It is a great way to share experiences, pictures, and ideas stemming from your CAC experience. Participation is completely voluntary. WhatsApp is a popular application for people to communicate across different platforms. It is free and can be used either on Android or iPhone devices. To join the group, just use the following link:
