Truck Drivers & Helpers
St. Vincent de Paul is in need of drivers and helpers to pick up donations at residential and commercial locations. The requirements for drivers are: 1) Must have a valid driver's license (no CDL license required for our 24' box trucks) and 2) must be 21 years of age or older. Each driver must be accompanied by a helper to assist in carrying heavy items (furniture, appliances, etc.), load them into the truck and unload them at the Distribution Center dock. Driver and helper should sign up at the same time. This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for a father and son/daughter to serve together. Or, instead of playing golf, volunteer with half of your foursome and bring your muscles instead of your golf clubs.
The Distribution Center is located at 1201 E. Maryland Street. There is parking on Maryland Street, come in through the Volunteer Entrance, sign in and ask for Skip or Mark who will get you started for the day. Complete instructions regarding driving the truck, where to pick up/deliver and donations to be picked up will be given to you when you arrive. Please dress casually and note that open toe shoes are not permitted for safety reasons. Remember to sign out when you leave the Distribution Center for the day. Masks are required.
Thank you for signing up and supporting the mission of St. Vincent de Paul and the people we serve. Should you have any questions/concerns, please contact Darlene Sweeney, Director of Volunteer Services [email protected]
