St. Vincent de Paul Men's Plank Road Shelter Manna Givers
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT VOLUNTEERING TO BE A MANNA GIVER MEANS THAT YOU WILL PURCHASE OR PREPARE A MEAL AND DELIVER IT TO THE GUESTS IN THE SHELTER.
IF YOU ARE A REGULAR MANNA GIVER, PLEASE LET THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR KNOW WHETHER YOU WILL DROP OFF A MEAL. THIS WILL BE NOTED ON THE SIGN UP GENIUS SO THAT WE CAN PLAN ACCORDINGLY. YOU CAN DO THIS BY NOTING IN THE COMMENT SECTION OF THE SIGN UP THAT YOU WILL DROP OFF A MEAL OR BY CONTACTING THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR THROUGH SIGN UP GENIUS AND ASKING HER TO DO IT.
PLEASE DROP OFF THE MEAL IN DISPOSABLE CONTAINERS. NO SERVING UTENSILS ARE NEEDED.
PLEASE WEAR A MASK AND GLOVES WHEN DROPPING OFF THE FOOD.
CALL FIVE DAYS BEFORE YOUR SERVING DATE TO ASK HOW MANY GUESTS ARE CURRENTLY IN THE SHELTER.
The Plank Road Men's Shelter of St. Vincent de Paul located at 2550 Plank Road houses homeless men. We are so very grateful to our Manna Givers that provide an evening meal to these men every night of the year.
Manna Givers are asked to prepare a meal that includes a meat, vegetable and a starch. Desserts and beverages are optional and we provide the paper goods. When it is deemed safe to do so, we encourage you to stay and eat and have fellowship with our guests. If you choose to do this, please bring enough food for your volunteers as well. At this time, we are so grateful that you will drop off a wonderful meal for our guests.
We encourage you to list the food items you plan to bring in the comment section of the sign-up. By doing this, Manna Givers on days close to your day of volunteering won't prepare the same food items. It is optional as to whether you list the food items you plan to bring.
We ask that the Manna Givers drop off the meal at the Plank Road Men's Shelter at 5:45 PM.
Thank you so much for considering being a Manna Giver at the Men's Plank Road Shelter of St. Vincent de Paul. This is such a gift to us and the people we serve! If you have any questions about this opportunity, please phone our Volunteer Coordinator at 383-7837, Ext. 207.
