Pumpkin Patch Volunteers
Welcome Back Heritage!
We have missed you! There is no better way to get together than at The Pumpkin Patch! It is one of the largest community outreach activities and fundraisers for the Heritage Lighthouse Student Ministry. We would love for everyone to be involved to have another successful year. Students are encouraged to work two shifts. STUDENTS MAY EARN VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR SCHOOL AND TO USE TOWARDS LIGHTHOUSE TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES. The money raised during the pumpkin patch subsidizes trips and events for the Lighthouse students throughout the year.
Here are some Important Dates to put on your calendar!
Saturday, October 3rd - Set Up Day 9-Noon
We need help in these areas:
Fence crew, Lighting crew, Unload Pallets and Arrange them, take out and set up all wooden signs and benches, cashier stand, decorating crew, and a few people willing to make and serve drinks and food. There is a lot of lifting and pounding to set up. So this day is mostly for adults and hard-working teens. But we do need a few more people willing to decorate and make the pumpkin patch look inviting. All should bring masks, gloves, old clothes, and a few tools (hammers, drills, screw drivers, rakes, etc) Our goal is to have everything set up and ready to go for when the pumpkins arrive the next Saturday.
Saturday, October 10th and October 24th (CANCELED) from 8:30-12 PM - Pumpkin Unloads
The more hands-on-deck the faster the unloading will go. We will be using the Old School Pumpkin Unload method again, where we all hand the pumpkins down the line. We can use everyone for this. But most of all adults and teens that can lift heavy pumpkins. The kids are welcome to help set up the small pumpkins. There is a lot for them to do in that area but they need to be supervised. We could also use a few people to help with drinks and food that day too. Please eat a good breakfast, bring a mask, gloves, and wear old clothes. We will provide lemonade, water, and pizza around noon. We will be rotating men in and out of the truck so that they do not get overheated.
Sunday, November 1st - Clean Up Day NOON-5
There is a lot to get done this day. We will need a lot of help! We will need to stack pallets, dump the rotten pumpkins, take down all signs and benches, rake the hay, take down the tent and stand, and most decorations.
When you sign up, please remember that you can check back here to view your schedule and you can also receive email reminders. If you find that you are unable to work your shift(s), please try to get someone to work in your place. If you are having trouble getting someone to cover, please let us know in advance to the shift.
