All food for the evening meal must be delivered to the shelter site between 6:15-6:30pm. Hot food must be delivered hot and cold food delievered cold. Please bring in a container you can leave with us OR that you take back with you, we are not able to get containers back to you. If what you signed up for says "see recipe", please find the recipes attached below.
All breakfast food must be delivered to the site during the date and time frame on the sign up. The only exception to this is if you are volunteering for the morning shift and wish to bring the food with you that morning. Please follow any preparation instructions carefully.
You may also sign up to serve the evening meal if you would like, from 7-8:30pm (please arrive at 6:30 to prepare to serve). If you are only serving food, you do not need to have completed shelter training, but you must remain in the food service area, wear masks, social distance as much as possible, and use gloves and sanitizer. Guests will be served all food and drink this year. There is a max of 4 for serving dinner and all must be Jr. High age or older. If you wish to serve with a group that is slightly larger, please request this from [email protected] If you have a much larger group, please choose additional dates and serve in small groups.
If you sign up, you will receive an email reminder, but PLEASE do not forget! It is a hardship to scramble to find food when a meal doesn't arrive.
IF YOU SUSPECT YOU HAVE OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID, please delete yourself from the sign up ASAP so others can sign up. It is helpful also to let Dawn know at 815-546-3271. Thank you!
