FUN Art Making @ UMMA
Join us on Friday and have FUN with UMMA. Select a time slot below and then click “Submit and Sign Up”.
What, exactly, will I be doing?
It depends on the day! Some example tasks could be: Forming cardboard into shapes to create the skeleton of a sculpture; Gluing papermaché to existing structures to prep them for painting; Painting structures or pieces; or Drawing, stapling, hammering, cutting, weaving, wiring, or any other activity our resident artists need help with.
No experience is necessary. Each task will be explained and guided by our resident artists.
How long does it take?
Plan on approximately two hours. We ask that you arrive on time so that everyone can receive the same instructions and guidance from the artists.
Do I have to stay the whole time?
You are encouraged to stay for the duration of your scheduled block. However, if you need to leave early, there is likely to be an eager creative beaver nearby who will take over for you.
What should I wear?
Dress to get messy! You’ll be working with paint, glue, or other art materials and supplies that could make close dirty or otherwise stained. Close-toed shoes are recommended.
What is the age range? Can my young kids come?
FUN is for everyone and guests of all ages. Some of our more complex tasks during our “Messy Visits” will need to be completed by older kids or adults. We recommend our Quick Visits for our youngest guests, who may not be able to concentrate on tasks for long stretches of time.
