Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church
Chapel Hill has partned with the Oasis Center in Port Porchard to provide needed meals and supplies for youth at their drop-in center. Laurie Bowers is coordinating Chapel Hill meals and supplies each Wednesday. Please contact her with any questions. Laurie, 661-342-1423, [email protected]
Meals can be delivered directly to Coffee Oasis at 2pm each Wednesday or contact Laurie to coordinate pick up from your house. We ask that meals are made in disposable dish wear as we cannot guarantee any return on personal items or that you stay to bring home your own items.
Jake Wischoff at CO in Port Orchard said he'd love it if you text him Wednesday morning to let him know what you're bringing and if you need help finding your way around or bringing up supplies. His cell number is: 360.620.9291. You're welcome to ask youth for help carrying supplies too. He would love to have the volunteers stay and serve the meal, just let him know if you need any help. Servers can plate food up for youth with gloves on and ask if they want certain toppings, sides or dressings.
Ideas for meals, variety is great:
- Chicken salad/chef salad bar (variety of toppings and dressings)
- Pit Pit/wraps/gyros
- Barbecue with sides
- Chicken Alfredo or Chicken Divan
- Papa Murphy's cooked at home (change it up a bit BBQ chicken, etc.)
- Loaded french fries
- Taco or nacho bar
- Asian style food (teriyaki, etc.)
- ***** PLEASE NO MEALS MADE WITH SHELLFISH! WE HAVE SOME ALLERGiES!
They get a lot of red spaghetti, lasagna, chili and plain pizza and would love a little more variety (you can put a different spin on some of these traditional items too.)
Thanks for supporting the work of Coffee Oasis, reaching out to homeless and at risk youth. The drop-in centers are a life-line for many youth without a stable home situation. Please keep the youth in your prayers and that God would use these donations to bring hope through the work of Coffee Oasis!
