Volunteer at Elgin's Mass Vax Site

The Kane/Cook Elgin Mass Vaccination site is now open and we are seeking volunteers (18 and older) to assist Tuesdays-Sundays from 8:30am to 6:30pm at Elgin's East Side Recreational Center, located at 1080 East Chicago Street, Elgin, IL, 60120. The mass vax clinic days and times may be altered based on the availability of the vaccine.

Volunteers are needed for shifts approximately 2.5-3 hours, especially those that are bilingual. Volunteer duties can include any of the following:

  • Check-in and Registration: ensuring that all paperwork or documentation has been completed and welcome people to the clinic.
  • Greeters and Line Monitors: welcoming individuals to the site, communicate expectations and site specific processes or protocols, enforce social distancing while people wait in line, and help keep things moving smoothly.
  • Observation: monitoring and observation of individuals post vaccination. They will work with a medical trained observer and assist by checking in with those in observation to ensure they are feeling well and triage them to a clinical lead should they be experiencing symptoms.
  • Logistics Support Floaters: helping to ensure that staff has the supplies needed and be available to help keep operations moving.
