CMSWS Volunteer Opportunities
Come help us keep our surface waters pollution-free! CMSWS hosts a volunteer event the Second Saturday and Last Thursday of every month, as well as some additional events throughout the year. An email will be sent to those signed up to volunteer the day before each volunteer event with details, i.e. parking, where to meet, what to bring. If you have questions in the meantime, don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected]
Find an activity or date that works best for you, then head to that activity's webpage to read through the safety rules and guidelines:
- Stream Cleanup - Volunteers will be picking up trash in the stream and along the stream bank at the listed location.
- Storm Drain Marking - Volunteers will meet at the listed location and receive supplies and a map of a nearby neighborhood to walk or drive to.
- Tree Maintenance - Volunteers will be pruning trees, straightening tree tubes, and fixing weed mats.
Each volunteer, including minors, must sign up individually.
By signing up below, you also agree to our waiver and will follow social distancing standards in place:
The following persons will participate in one or more volunteer activities. By their signatures they agree to abide by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services’ rules policies, safety guidelines, and instructions and to not hold Mecklenburg County, the City of Charlotte, or their partners responsible for any injuries they may suffer or damages that they may cause or suffer as a result of participation in CMSWS Volunteer Events.
