At the Ribfest Corn booth we serve water, pop and boiled corn on the cob, complete with hot butter.

Morning Shifts: prepare for the day’s sales by restocking the pop cooler, bottled water, ice trough and shucking corn. The corn boilers are started and corn is cooked in time for opening. There are some “light” counter sales as hungry patrons arrive for the ribs.

Afternoon Shifts: should be prepared for some high volume sales. Primarily the day’s tasks are cooking corn, maintaining inventory levels and serving over two serving counters. Food safety regulations make it necessary for us to wash our hands thoroughly and use gloves when handling cooked foods. Typically, one person will be designated to handle the cooked corn at the butter station. All others can handle pop, water, and serve as long as they are not touching the corn that is served on the plates. Restocking of products is necessary throughout the day by retrieving pop, water, and corn from the storage trailer.

Evening Shift Tasks: are similar to the afternoon shift. Since this is the dinner time it is the busiest for Ribfest and the corn booth. The end of the day requires some cleaning and restocking for the next day.

Volunteering at the Ribfest Corn Booth is fun and fast paced. The crowds demand our delicious corn and thirst quenching pop and water. The Corn Booth also supports all of the Ribfest Volunteers with free water during the event, so this makes us the go-to spot for hydration.
