Student Health Outreach Team (SHOT)/ Saturday Scrubs
The Student Health Outreach Team (SHOT) works with the Office of Admissions and Recruitment to facilitate activities designed to stimulate curiosity and continued interest in STEM as a way to encourage students to remain interested in and passionate about a future in medicine!
*Please note that all currently listed dates will be Virtual over Zoom*
- Try and wear UA COMP gear when you come and volunteer
- Saturday Scrubs virtual events consist of two case discussion sessions each lasting about 1 hour with a 15-minute prep session before the first session. Each medical student volunteer will be placed into a breakout room to walk through a patient case presentation with 2-3 high school students that are interested in the medical field. If you have any questions or run into technical issues during the session, please message/email any of the SHOT leaders or leave the breakout room. No medical student should be alone in a breakout room with only 1 high school student. If this happens due to incorrect sorting or one student drops out, please leave the breakout room with the student and return to the main room.
- It is your responsibility to find a replacement if you are unable to attend an event. Please contact Trevor Smith at [email protected] at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend. If you do not show up and you haven't contacted Trevor 24 hours in advance you will be deducted 3 CHIP hours.
