As an open-admission shelter, we believe that by welcoming every animal, we reduce animal cruelty, abandonment and neglect. The Hawaiian Humane Society accepts all animals, regardless of breed, size, health or temperament. While our Admissions Center is open 24-hours a day, scheduling an appointment can help to reduce your wait time and allow the Society to talk with you to learn more about your pet and go over any medical records.
What should I bring to the shelter?
- Vaccination and veterinary records – Bring a copy of these documents and any other relevant health records for your pet.
- Behavior information – Help us to get to know your pet by being prepared to discuss their everyday behavior and personality.
- Security/transportation – Ensure your pet(s) is leashed and/or secure in a carrier.
