Capital City Bible Reading Marathon
“But let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream" Amos 5:24
We are excited to kick off the annual Montgomery Bible Reading Marathon, an international, annual event where people, young and old, read the entire Bible (Genesis through Revelation) aloud.
Out of an abundance of caution, Scripture readings for this year’s Bible Reading Marathon will now occur at your convenience in your home, and the previously scheduled in-person readings at The Vessel Room have been canceled to ensure the health of our participants.
If you have already signed up for a reading time, you will receive an email notification that will provide your assigned Scripture reading as well as instructions for reporting your completed reading assignment(s). We do ask that all reading assignments are completed and reported no later than Sunday morning, May 9, at 8:30 am.
If you have not signed up, we still have a few available opportunities to read, and we would love to have you participate with us in the reading out loud of God’s Word.
We are truly sorry to have to make these last-minute changes as we were hopeful to resume the in-person readings, but greatly appreciate your understanding and flexibility to ensure the safety of all involved.
Approximately 360 volunteers are required to complete the reading of the entire Bible.
Scripture readings begin on the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 6. You may read your assignments at any time of the day from Thursday, May 6 until Sunday morning, May 9, at 8:30 am.
To speak out God’s Word over our city and state. Isaiah 55:11
