2020 Walk MS: Twin Cities General Event Volunteers

Join others making a difference by volunteering your time and talents to help stop MS in our lifetime.

From encouraging participants and providing refreshments, to providing safety and support for riders along the route, we have something for everyone. Thank you for volunteering!

To volunteer for Walk MS: Twin Cities on Sunday, May 3, 2020:

  • Choose your preferred volunteer shift(s) from the list below (other roles may be found in the tabs above)
  • We welcome individual volunteers and volunteer groups of all sizes
  • Assignment emails and further details will be sent via email 7-10 days prior to the event

AGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Under the age of 18 must have a signature from a parent or legal guardian on their paper volunteer consent form.
  • Paper consent forms will be sent to youth volunteers prior to the event, and available at Volunteer Check-In and each Rest Stop.

Activities include: Unloading and distributing supplies, setting up tents, tables, and chairs, hanging banners and signage, decorating tents and tables (heavy lifting required approx. 50lbs).

Parking Area (6)

Activities include: Directing participants and vendors to the appropriate areas for event parking, answering questions as needed, and directing participants to appropriate areas. *Please note if interested in serving as a parking supervisor.*

Shuttle Bus Attendants (3)

Activities include: Welcoming participants and directing them to the appropriate areas at the event site, answering questions as needed, ensuring shuttle bus lines are moving quickly.

 

Kids Area (4)

Activities include: Setting up tent/area with activities for kids, running activities for kids that may include coloring, face painting, lawn games, bubbles, cleaning up area and putting away supplies. *Background check required.

Activities include: Providing props and pose ideas for teams and individuals. Capturing photos on personal camera. Sharing photos with MS staff after event (instructions to come later).
