Each year, thousands of people across the country join the Bike MS volunteer team.

From planning event details and calling past participants to providing safety and support for riders at the event, volunteers make Bike MS happen, and are the foundation of why Bike MS is the largest cycling fundraising event in the country.

Route Marking (4)

Activities Include: Marking event route with signage to indicate the direction participants should follow. Often this task is completed in collaboration with a staff or committee member utilizing a vehicle or golf cart.

Volunteers unload and distribute supplies, setting up tents/table/chairs, hang banners and signage, decorate tents and tables (heavy lifting may be required).

Volunteer Check-In

Check-in volunteers, ensure paperwork is turned in and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their assignment. Brief training will be provided prior to start of shift. Volunteers may join finish-line crew during downtime!

Route Support (3)

Volunteers drive in vehicles (provided by the society) on route to provide support, transport riders back to start when needed, communicate incidents with staff, and more. *Staff will contact volunteer for required background check*

 
Along the route  7:00am - 5:00pm  

Roving Medical (2)

First Aid Volunteers consists of certified medical professionals (EMT, EMS, RN, etc) who administer First-Aid to event participants. This position requires you to drive along the route, providing care to cyclists on the road. *Motor vehicle check required

HAM Radio Operator (8)

Providing communication's support, HAM Radio Operators are stationed at the start/finish, rest stop, and elsewhere along the route. Our HAM volunteers monitor participants, report incidents to staff, and more. HAM Radio Operator License required*

Volunteers gather around the finish line to cheer on rider's as they finish their ride! Greet participants as they return from their rides, and mark that they have returned safely. Volunteers should be energetic and encouraging!

Clean-up Crew (6)

Clean-up crew cleans up the start/finish site, takes down decorations/signage/banners, breaks down tents/tables/chairs. Volunteers in this position should also cheer on riders as they cross the finish line to elevate the ride's atmosphere!
