Shopping Volunteers have direct contact with clients. Shopping Volunteers assist clients with the selection of their groceries and helping them to their vehicle. Other tasks include weighing, sorting and stocking inventory, general food pantry clean up and organization.
Front Desk greeters are the first person folks see when they arrive. This position works alone sitting at the entrance to our building greeting clients and checking them in when they arrive.
Youth volunteers can help with inventory, recycling, taking groceries out for clients, general clean up and organization. Responsible youth ages 14+ can serve on their own.
The ReStock Team serves Mondays and Wednesdays to organize and restock the shelves so they are ready the next time panty is open. This position has no contact with the clients. Some of the tasks include: weighing and logging donations, accurate date checking, sorting, stocking and organizing inventory, general clean up - taking out recycling and trash. Training provided.
This is great opportunity for students earning Silver Cord hours and family serving opportunities. Students age 13 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Location: All teams serve on-site at WACS, located in the lower level of Westview Church (1155 SE Boone Dr, Waukee, IA 50263). Enter the church side doors (ring the doorbell if the doors are locked), the food pantry is located downstairs, first door on the left. We don't unlock the doors until opening time, if you arrive early ring the buzzer or walk around the back of the building and knock on the door.
