Join us as we explore careers in manufacturing! Students in 6-8th grade are invited to the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds in Lafayette for the day. Students will be grouped with a chaperone to participate in 4 stations with hands-on careers awareness activities.
Design It - What careers are involved in the research and design of a product? This station will explore what it takes to develop a product, research that goes into development and continuous improvements. Careers such as prototyping, tool and die, mechanical engineers, chemical engineers, research chemist, fabrication and more.
Produce It - What careers are involved in the production of a product? This station will explore what careers are involved in the creation of all of the goods made here in Greater Lafayette. Careers such as robot technicians, quality control, press extrusion, welders, maintenance, operators, supervisors and more
Move It - What careers are involved in logistics and supply chain? This station will explore what careers are involved in the movement of materials and finished goods. Careers such as material management, packing, shipping & receiving, distribution, just in time delivery, warehouse and more.
Support It - What careers are involved in the support of manufacturing and the facility? This station will explore what careers are involved in supporting the manufacturing facility and its team members. Careers such as IT, training, human resources, nursing, physical therapy, environmental health and safety, international trade, legal, accounts receivable and more.
Lunch is NOT included.
