  • You may sign-up for multiple assignments! (I.e.- Work 'set-up' from 7:15am-9:00am, then 'finish line/clean-up' from 9:15am-11:00am)

Volunteer Check-In

Welcome fellow volunteers, check-in volunteers on provided sign-in sheet, collect paperwork and consent forms, direct volunteers to their assignment locations. **Brief training and written assignment instructions provided prior to shift**

Event Set-up

Unload and distribute supplies, set-up tents, tables, and chairs, hang banners and signage, decorate tents and tables with balloons and other supplies. (Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required)

Registration Table

Registration table volunteers check-in event participants and teams, collect pledge envelopes and donations, provide general event information, provide excellent customer service. *Background check required for volunteers handling donations.*

Event Clean-up

Volunteers breakdown event site which includes taking down tents, loading tables and chairs onto truck, packing t-shirts and supplies, tidying the site. *Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required*

Mission (MS Awareness) Table

Set-up MS Awareness table with provided supplies & t-shirts, manage mission area during event which includes disseminating Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society and MS, etc. *Knowledge on MS and the Society preferred*

T-shirt Table

Organize shirts by size and type, hand out shirts to qualifying participants, keep area neat, count and box remaining t-shirts once walkers are on the route. *Excellent customer service skills are required*

Route Rest-Stop Crew

Set-up the site with supplies and food (dropped off at site by staff). Run the food and hydration stations as walkers pass by the rest stop site, cheer for walkers, break-down and clean site after the walk.

HAM Radio Group

Food Service Area

Set up food service area, cut bananas and bagels, oversee food line, restock as needed, keep area clean. *Basic and safe food preparation and handling is required. Volunteers will be provided hand washing station*

8:00am - 10:30am

 

Route Support / HAM Radio

Volunteers drive the route and are stationed in key locations to monitor walkers, communicate location of walkers with staff, provide rides back to start/finish area if needed. Background check required for drivers.

Photographer

Our volunteer photographers take team photos at the start area and photos of participants and volunteers at the start/finish and along the route. **Must have good quality camera and ability to add photos to file sharing site within one week of the event**

Registration Greeters

Welcome participants, answer questions and oversee the ‘flow’ of the registration line by directing participants to the proper check-in location. *Customer service skills and ability to stand for long period of time, required*

Finish Line Cheering Crew

Volunteers gather at the Walk MS finish line to cheer for participants as they complete the walk! Energy and Walk MS spirit are required!! We encourage school groups and families to make encouraging signs to help us enhance the finish line atmosphere!
