Includes snowshoes, poles, headlamp, and mountain guide. Trip meets at the trailhead.

Glistening snow, a chill in the air, and the crunch of snow under your feet, this is what you have to look forward to while we celebrate the rising of the Full Moon. This outing is perfect for those who’ve never tried snowshoeing as well as those who are longtime enthusiasts. The leaders will cover techniques to help you safely traverse in an alpine environment while exploring the beautiful Sandia Mountains. This hike is rated as easy and is approximately 3.0 miles round trip with 150 feet of elevation gain. We’ll depart from the Ellis Trailhead parking lot and proceed up to the crest for views of the full moon and the city.
