We've received notification that a Nepali refugee has been granted travel to come to Pittsburgh to reunite with his wife. He will arrive next week to rejoin her and both are very excited as they have been apart for several years.
Below is a list of basic needs - housing & personal items that he will need as soon as he arrives to help him get started on building a life that allows him to be self-sufficient and comfortable here in Pittsburgh.
Help us welcome him! :)
Please note - he arrives on September 16th and items will be needed asap but he will be joining his wife so items may not be needed as timely as refugees not joining their spouse.
First, donate items! There is a list of items below that the family would like for their home. If you have items you'd like to donate, sign-up! If there is a larger item you would like to contribute towards, please let me know.
Second, gift cards! If you don't have the items we're looking for or don't have time to shop, you can send gift cards - this way the family can choose for themselves. If you'd like to use electronic, send them straight to my email at [email protected]
PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT SHIP ITEMS TO JFCS' OFFICE Address.
A Caseworker from JFCS will contact you within 3-5 business days of your sign-up with address details. [Please note, this is a very busy time - the best type of busy - LOTS of new refugees! :)]
