Crossroads of Michigan MLK Sunday Interfaith Soup Kitchen (Detroit) - Chop, stir and cook up a hot and nutritious lunch on Martin Luther King, Jr. Sunday!
Cosponsored by Christ Church Cranbrook and Repair the World, Detroit, we are hoping to gather people of different faiths to work alongside together as King had envisioned the beloved community to do.
We need 40 people to help feed over 500 hungry people at the only Sunday Soup Kitchen in Detroit. You must be 14 years old or older to serve.
We will have 2 groups of 20 people each heading down to serve:
a. Early shift (8.15am-12pm) will cut and cook all food (Sloppy joes and fixins), make sandwiches, and get ready to serve!
b. Later shift (11.15am-3.30pm) will serve all guests, clean all pots and pans, the kitchen and dining hall.
The Crossroads of Michigan facility in Detroit at 2424 West Grand Boulevard. Parking is right at the facility.
Please indicate what faith you are representing and your faith community.
It's a great event to recognize the dream Martin Luther King had for all of us to seek justice together. Thanks for helping!
