Due to COVID-19 and mandates regarding social distancing, this year's graduation ceremony is moving towards a virtual ceremony where students are invited to submit photos in place of a traditional stage crossing.
We understand that crossing the stage is an important milestone for our graduates and their families. Therefore, we invite grads to book an appointment to have a traditional stage crossing at the school. Measures will be taken to ensure social distancing advisories are followed. Please read the following instructions before booking an appointment.
*Arrive at the outside entrance of the Ian Snow Gym.
*Appointments are only available to students who paid their grad ceremony fees.
*Students may only book one appointment.
*In order to maintain the appointment schedule, students must not show up late or miss their appointments.
*Each appointment is 5 minutes long.
*Students must arrive 5-10 minutes early to pick up their grad gown prior to crossing the stage.
*Students are permitted invite their parents and siblings to watch as they cross. No exceptions will be made. Do not invite extended family or friends.
*May 21st has later appointments.
*Up to four families may be in the gym at one time.
*As students cross the stage, a staff member will read their grad intro statement.
*If a student is a recipient of a scholarship or bursary from COBSS, it will be read out after their intro statement.
*Each stage crossing will be recorded and made into a video montage to be released at a later time.
*Diplomas are not traditionally given out a grad, as they are provided by the Ministry of Education after June. Instead, we will give a Certificate of Congratulations as the grad crosses the stage.
Once you have crossed the stage, we ask that you and your guests leave MBSS to ensure we can maintain social distancing measures.
