Volunteer Resource Center
Dear CU Boulder Community,
Gov. Jared Polis issued an executive order on April 17 requiring all workers in critical businesses and government functions to wear non-medical cloth masks while at work. Critical-services workers on campus are in need of reusable masks to protect themselves and students they serve from the spread of COVID-19.
While the campus does have a supply of masks and is providing them for critical services employees currently, demand for masks everywhere is high, and orders for new reusable masks are currently back-ordered. To supplement campus supplies during this time of high demand, we are asking for volunteers to create 1000-plus cloth masks as soon as possible to have them available in the coming weeks. If you have crafting and sewing capabilities and are able to contribute, please sign up below for the number of masks you can commit to making.
What Volunteers Need to Know:
ALL MASKS SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING
Two or three layers of closed-weave fabric. 100% cotton is recommended.
Pocket for removable filter. (If this isn't possible, two or three layer cotton sewn closed is great)
Flexible nose clip (pipe cleaners, paper clips, coffee bag closures, thin wire all work well).
Comfortable and secure ties or loops. This can be bias tape, elastic or even fabric cut from t-shirts.
All colors and patterns are accepted. Please ensure the patterns you use are appropriate for the workplace.
Where to Donate:
Masks can be delivered or mailed to
