Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Lake Roland!  Baltimore County and the Lake Roland Nature Council require that individuals who want to volunteer must complete and submit a Lake Roland Volunteer Form and a Lake Roland Nature Council Volunteer Coronavirus/COVID-19 Form. Any Lake Roland Nature Council volunteer that volunteers with children (under 18) is subject to the Baltimore County Background Check Policy.

Will help run the registration table for signing in pre-registered participants, and making sure they have filled out Covid Waivers for all participants. Dress for the weather, Bring a mask, Bring a snack, and drink.

Maple Sugaring: Hike Leader

Lead a group of 10 people max. Leader will present information on identifying a maple tree, how to tap a maple tree, and the cooking stages of maple sugaring. Dress for the weather, Bring a mask, snack and drink. Training will be provided before the date.

Maple Sugaring: Evaporator Station

Lead the evaporator station on the maple sugaring tour. You will be in charge of keeping a fire in the fire pit and inside the evaporator and techniques. Dress for the weather, Bring a mask, snack and drink. Training will be provided before the date.
