Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Lake Roland. The work of the Environmental Preservation Committee helps maintain the natural environment to benefit the park and park users.
The Environmental Preservation Committee periodically have events that welcome volunteers, some of these include:
- Weed Warriors Program focused on the erradication of invasive plants at In Lake Roland.
- Task specific outings in project focus areas including the Bare Hills Serpentine Barrens and areas around the Lake Roland Nature Center.
- Spring & Fall Native Plant Sale – These plant sales include hundreds of native plants that thrive in area back yards and gardens and attract pollinators.
- Hold events and demonstration projects in the park with strategic organizations including the Natural History Society of Maryland, the Maryland Nature Plant Society, the Baltimore Bird Club.
Please check the Nature Council Calendar and this site to learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
