All volunteers will be REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK. No exceptions. Anyone unable to comply will be asked to leave.
Registration Duties: Answer our registration line and assist families in signing up for Thanksgiving Baskets. You will enter the registration information directly into an online spreadsheet - so general computer knowledge and data entry skills are essential along with good phone skills and customer service. Comfort working with a Bluetooth headphone is great. Volunteers who are bilingual in Spanish are especially encouraged to help though this is not a requirement. We greatly appreciate volunteers who can help for two or more shifts. 18+
This shift will take place near the front desk at Goodman Community Center. You will be required to wear a mask at all times. If you are ill, do NOT volunteer and contact the Volunteer Manager.
When signing up for a shift, please ensure you are available for the entire time. Due to the extremely large number of volunteers we work with to make Thanksgiving Baskets a success, shifts may not be shortened or split.
Parking/Biking:There is plenty of on-street parking available around the center (during the weekday please leave our lot free for program participants and during the weekend the parking lot is closed for distribution day drive thru). We are also on a bike path and have bike parking available (please lock your bike).
Where to meet: When you arrive for your shift, check in at the Ironworks Building (149 Waubesa St.) front desk.
Volunteer Release: Prior to your volunteer shift, please complete the vounteer release form and email it or bring a completed copy of the volunteer release with you. (download from this sign-up genius below). We will have blank copies if you have any trouble accessing the document through this site. Releases for youth must be signed by a parent or guardian.
COVID-19 Safety Precautions: COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed which includes a wellness screening upon arrival, social distancing and masks will be required to be worn the entire time. Volunteer and staff who are ill or exhibiting symptoms will not be allowed to participate.
Thank you for your help! If you have any questions, please contact me.
