DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue
DAWG has asked for DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue volunteers to help with its March agility trial. DAWG will compensate DFWCSR up to 300 dollars per day (900 dollars total) for ten volunteers to help out each day. Just think of the sweet cockers that an be helped with this additional money!
The dates of the trial are March 8th, 9th, and 10th and will be held at Myers Park in McKinney, and the first dog to run is typically at 8:00am each day.
The tasks that are needed help with are simple, and include things like sitting inside the agility ring (and getting a front row seat to all the action!!!) and resetting bars that may have been knocked down between each dog's run (most of the volunteers will be needed to do this). The other two tasks that will require volunteers are 1) moving leashes from the start line (after a dog starts its run) to the finish line so handlers can quickly exit the ring with their dog and 2) transporting "scribe sheets" (essentially scoring cards) from the agility ring to the trial secretary.
No prior experience is necessary, as training will be provided on the spot, and the tasks are pretty straightforward. Although we are looking for folks to commit to a full day to one specific task for organizational purposes, once there, you can rotate tasks with others to get experience in all the roles.
The only requirement for volunteers is that they be at least 15 years of age.
Volunteers let's sign up and help DAWG help DFWCSR!
