Winchester Farmers Market Food Donations
Each week during the 2020 Winchester Farmers Market season (July11-October 24), this group will circulate around the market vendors just before the market wraps up (around 1:15) to collect any food that the vendors do not want to pack up and deliver the donated food to local pantries. This year we are donating to the Dwelling Place soup kitchen (523 Main St., Woburn). Food may be collected in whatever containers you have on hand (e.g. paper bags, plastic bins, etc). You may choose to deliver the food directly after the market if that is most convenient OR wait until 5pm when the cooks will be on-site at the kitchen preparing to cook the meal, and recipients of the meal may be gathering. Judy Storeygard will have the key for the Dwelling Place. The volunteer each week should pick up the key prior to delivering thd food and return it after. The key unlocks the black door at the side of the church (accessible via ramp or stairs). Once inside the door you will be in a small lobby with the kitchen door directly ahead. Donations should be left on the table in the center of the kitchen. Anything that needs refrigeration can be left in the kitchen fridge if there is room.
We are also donating to the Anchor Baptist Church at 29A Montvale Ave. There will be someone there at 1:45 on Sat. or 9:45 on Sunday to collect vegetables (they will take kale, herbs, and other less familiar greens that the Dwelling Place clients are not taking).
