Fair Gate Volunteers
SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM FOR SIGN UP DAYS
The Clay County Agricultural Fair is an award-winning fair because of the many volunteers who contribute to our success. The fair starts on Thursday, April 1st and ends on Sunday, April 11th. Volunteer shifts at the gate are 3 hours and individuals will have an opportunity to select one of the two positions listed below:
Ticket Scanners - Duties could include greeting fairgoers, scanning admission tickets, or providing hand stamps for fair reentry. Being a gate greeter requires someone who is positive, courteous and enjoys interacting with people. Most of the duties of this position are outside and will keep you on your feet, but if you would prefer to work inside and sitting-down consider becoming a box office attendant.
Ticket Seller - Duties could include greeting fairgoers processing payments/transactions, and distributing admission tickets. Being a box office attendant requires someone who is detail oriented and comfortable handling money. These duties are performed inside, and you can sit down or stand.
Volunteers should report to the front gate 30 minutes before their shift begins to be assigned a work space and receive a brief training. The following individuals are in charge of gate operations and will be happy to assist you when you arrive, Andrea Tharp and Leanne Donaghy. For individuals who need community service hours, your volunteer hours will be tracked, and you will be provided with a verification letter.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns contact Andrea Tharp at [email protected] or 904-284-1615.
