Trenton First Presbyterian
May 20-27 Trenton First Presbyterian will Host ChristNet. This is a rotating homeless shelter where up to 30 guests will spend the night in our church and we will provide a hot dinner, breakfast and a sack lunch. Each night will have a planned activity and a meal donated.
We are looking for three women and three men to serve each 4 hour shift. Your volunteer title would be chaperone and your duties would be to watch over our church, eat with our homeless guests listening to their story and share yours. This is our opportunity to share Christ in a safe setting. You can go on a mission trip in our own community while serving others.
Consistency is great if you are able to volunteer on multiple nights the guests get to know you and develop a relationship. Some volunteers stay the night from beginning to end, while others serve one shift, whatever works for you we are happy you are choosing to help.
7pm-11pm Volunteers on the first shift welcome the guest as they come in and eat dinner with them. There is also an activity each night. (Movies, Games, Campfire, Tye Dye TShirts, Praise Band and others)
11pm-3am 2nd shift is usually quiet. Some guests keep schedules where they are up at night and sleep during the day. This shift also puts together and packs sack lunches for our guests
3am-7am Third shift starts quiet but rolls into making breakfast and waking the guests up.
We appreciate you serving one or multiple shifts and can't do this ministry without you!
