September is a time of restart for many – students are returning to classrooms, some remote workers are returning to offices, and here at Grassroots several more shelter residents are scheduled to move into their new apartment homes. For all of these groups this season will still be a new, and in many ways, nervous experience. One constant is the need for a nutritious meal for energy to help meet the challenges each day brings and we are grateful for each meal you provide to bring comfort, structure and a sense of being cared for. FYI - WE ARE SIGNING OFF ON SERVICE HOURS FOR STUDENTS WHO PREPARE AND DELIVER MEALS IF THEY PROVIDE THEIR OWN TIMESHEET.

Grassroots provides three meals daily for up to 50 shelter residents in our on-site commercial kitchen. We rely heavily on community support to feed our residents.
You can help by preparing a fully cooked meal or entrée to serve about 50 people. Meals can be prepared with your own ingredients or purchased. For example, rotisserie chickens are helpful to have on hand (we would need 12 to make a meal).
If frozen, you may deliver your meal in advance of your chosen date.

We will also accept donations to purchase meals. A dinner meal that we prepare cost approximately $150. Donations can be made online at: http://grassroots.hocomojo.org/donate/
